Attention SMES Parents

Update for SMES

The Fire Department and MCSD Maintenance Department have located the source of the gas smell
A roof unit had a malfunction that led to improper combustion, which released a foul odor
The roof unit has been turned off
This roof unit is not needed for heating or cooling of the school
The air within the building has been recycled
Air testing samples have been taken, and the fire department has cleared the building
The students and staff are reentering the building
All students and staff are safe
School is resuming normal activities
